Capacity Planning and Reporting, a Step Closer!
The OS Security Capacity Planning application
has reached its first milestone – providing reports from IBM Tivoli Data

bar, pie, etc – can be made with just a few clicks of the
mouse from data collected from ITM Best Practice Resource Models.

2004 – Capacity Planning and
Reporting
OS Security initiate a project to construct a J2EE application
that can be configured to not only report upon Tivoli generated
metrics but to also provide Capacity Planning functionality. This
application is envisaged to report from Tivoli Data Warehouse data,
either via the specific Data Marts or the main Data Warehouse.
However, as the application is standards based, it can easily be
modified to report from any structured data source. Sound interesting?

August 2004 – Tivoli Configuration
Manager Success!
The ON Demand application delivery architecture detailed below,
successfully delivers a complex matrix of applications to 850 desktops
in this, the first stage of our customers desktop replacement program.

As Usual, in budget and within time!
July 2004 – Successful On Demand
Desktop Application Proof of Concept
OS Security, partnering with a major EMEA
IBM Hardware vendor, successfully proves the concept of delivering
required applications
to various business units across a large, multi sited Enterprise.
The customer is to use this Tivoli architecture to full advantage
as part of a desktop replacement program that will see some 8500
desktop computers and 2500 laptops being rolled out across 5 major
sites and a number of branch offices. The desktop is delivered
to the user, plugged in, switched on and then within 20 minutes – all
appropriate applications are available to the end user. Just enough
time to grab a coffee…..

March 2004 – Early Experiences
with IBM Tivoli Intelligent ThinkDynamics Orchestrator and IBM
Tivoli
Provisioning Manager
Our Orchestrator and Provisioning Tutor
(the only non-IBM Trainer for these products in EMEA!) wrote
a white paper that shares initial
experiences of IBM Tivoli Intelligent ThinkDynamics Orchestrator
(ITO). This document also discusses how we have used the current
version of the product (1.1 build 788) to provide a basic level
of integration with the IBM Tivoli Enterprise Console (ITEC) and
the Tivoli Management Agent. IBM liked this so much – they
turned it into a Field Guide, available for download – and
quite by accident, missed Ghufran’s name from the title!
