Pre- requisites Thorough understanding of SNdA implementation for z/OS.
Audience This course is aimed at Network Administrators who are responsible for configuring and maintaining APPN in a VTAM environment.
Course Content Introduction to APPN to include Intermediate Session Routing (ISR) and High
Performance Routing (HPR).
Node types - Network Nodes, End Nodes, Border Node and Extended
Border Node
Directory Services including the Central Directory Server. APPN topology
and routing services.
APPN Class of Service and route selection.
High Performance Routing (HPR) to include Adaptive Rate Based flow
control (ARB) and Rapid Transit Protocol (RTP).
Control Point to Control Point (CP-CP) Sessions.
Dependent Logical Unit Requester Server (DLUR/S).
APPN Generic Resources in a Parallel Sysplex.
Enterprise Extender (EE) definition and implementation over an IP backbone.
Branch Extender (BX) definition and implementation for APPN scaleability.
Course Delivery This course can be provided on customer site or at OS Security Ltd's training facility in Solihull. Extensive practical exercises are an integral part of this course and therefore class sizes are limited to 12 attendees.
