Course Description

IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Databases, Version 5.1.0: DB2 enables you to manage your DB2 environment. This product provides facilities to discover DB2 resources and automatically define them to the Tivoli management environment. IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Databases, Version 5.1.0: DB2 also provides Tivoli Monitoring resource models which enable real-time monitoring of the DB2 environment, as well as historical reporting when used with Tivoli Enterprise Data Warehouse. The DB2 resource models generate IBM Tivoli Enterprise Console and/or IBM Tivoli Business Systems Manager events, which may be viewed by either console. Additionally, IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Databases: DB2 provides tasks to automate operations and aid the management of the DB2 environment. This course will teach you to install, administer, and use IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Databases, Version 5.1.0: DB2. This training includes video of an expert performing administrative tasks, and provides guided practice simulations for many administrative operations.

Tasks and Jobs
Ability to use IBM Tivoli Monitoring 5.1.0 to deploy resource models
Ability to use TEC to View Events
Familiarity with Tivoli Enterprise Data Warehouse
Familiarity with System Administration Concepts

Recommended Pre-requisites Before attending this course, you should attend the Tivoli Management Framework course or possess equivalent knowledge or skill, as defined in the description for that course.
