Description |
The
Tivoli Management Framework is the underlying infrastructure
that Tivoli and 3 Party management applications use to manage
heterogeneous systems and applications in a consistent manner.
Knowledge of Framework terms, resources and concepts is an
important first step in your preparation for success with
Tivoli Enterprise products.
The information covered in the course will provide delegates
with the opportunity to master the skills they need to perform
day-to-day administrative functions. Delegates will be introduced
to new terminology and concepts associated with administering
the Tivoli Enterprise Architecture |

components of the Tivoli Enterprise environment
Identify Tivoli Resources and navigate within the Tivoli
Desktop
Create
and maintain Tivoli Administrators Accounts

and distribute Tivoli Profiles and Profile Managers
Create
and execute Tivoli Tasks and Jobs and define the types of
Tivoli Policies
Create,
configure and maintain a Tivoli Management Agent (TMA)
Install
the Tivoli Framework software

| Who
will benefit from the course? |
The
design of this course assumes that the delegate has little
or no Tivoli experience. This course provides Systems Administrators
and Implementers with Tivoli Framework fundamentals, in preparation
for more advanced Framework courses, such as Optimising Tivoli
Management Framework. This course is also the prerequisite
for other Tivoli Enterprise application courses that are dependent
upon the Framework infrastructure. |

Skills/Knowledge |
In
Order to get the full benefit from this training, the following
skills and areas of knowledge are highly recommended:
Systems Administration
skills (either root on UNIX or Administrator level on NT)
Working knowledge
of network concepts, especially TCP/IP
Basic knowledge
of UNIX shell commands |
