Description |
This course teaches students how to implement IBM Tivoli Business Systems Manager. Students will learn basics, implementation methodology, planning and preparation, implementation of base services, and Tivoli Business Systems Manager Distributed. IBM Tivoli Business Systems Manager for z/OS will not be covered in this course.
This course includes hands-on activities.

| Objectives |
After completing the IBM Tivoli Business Systems Manager
2.1 or Distributed Implementors course, students should
be able to accomplish the following:
Describe the process of implementing
IBM Tivoli Business Systems Manager
including team member roles
and responsibilities, implementation methodology,
and client management.
Install and configure IBM
Tivoli Business Systems Manager Base Services
including the following servers:
Database and Application.
Install and configure IBM
Tivoli Business Systems Manager Distributed
components.
Build an initial All Resources
tree by gathering essential data from the customer,
getting resource and data
information, and create the initial resource database.
Configure and validate Distributed
data sources.
Troubleshoot an IBM Tivoli
Business Systems Manager installation.
Create the initial operator
environment by creating Business Systems, creating
operator workspaces, establishing
Console security and configuring the Web
Console.
Configure event propagation
by setting resource properties, modifying event
attributes and creating appropriate
business system structures.
Rollout and deploy IBM Tivoli
Business Systems Manager within a Distributed
environment.

Systems Manager. Typically, IBM Tivoli Business Systems
Manager implementors have a high-degree of experience
in Tivoli Enterprise Console and some experience with
