TEC Advanced Rules Programming
Course Description

Tivoli Enterprise Console (TEC) is a powerful event management and automation application. Programming Rules for the Tivoli Enterprise Console covers introductory TEC rule writing using the TEC rules language. In this course, delegates will learn advanced rules programming techniques.

Class Length 2 days
Objectives This course enables the attendee to build the necessary knowledge and skills to:

Trace, profile and get the event activity of a rulebase
Perform file input/output
Perform variable string and arithmetic manipulation
Perform list processing, backtracking
Write custom templates in side of rules
Work with fact files
Use the Rules Compiler
Who will benefit from the course? This course is intended System Administrators who are responsible for programming Tivoli Enterprise Console rules.
Required Skills/Knowledge Delegates should have:

An ability to use text editors is highly recommended
Whilst not a requirement, knowledge of programming concepts and an exposure to languages such as Prolog, Rexx and shell scripting is advantageous.
